Monday 13.11.16

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to harvest the fruits; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain form embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; A time to keep and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.

A home for street cats.

The definition of home. Be it ever so humble, it’s more than just place. It’s also an idea - one where the heart is. Home is embedded in human consciousness. Our sense of home is instinctive. Are we denning animals or nest builders, or are we at root, nomadic? For much of the earliest history of our species, home may have been nothing more than a small fire and the light it cast on a few familiar faces, surrounded perhaps by the accent city-mound of termites. But whatever else home is - and however it entered our consciousness - it’s a way of organizing space in our minds. Home is home, and everything else is not- home. That’s the way how the word, home is constructed.

Experience is a cover-all term for the various modes through which a person knows and constructs a reality. These modes range from the more direct and passive senses of smell, taste, and touch, to active visual perception and the indirect mode of symbolization.

Experience has a connotation of passivity; the word suggest what a person has undergone or sufferd from. Human beings are mature or immature depending on whether they have benefits from events. Experience thus implies the ability to learn from what one has undergone. To experience is to learn; it means acting on the given and creating out of the given. The given can not be know in itself.

What can be know is a reality that is a context of experience, a creation of feelings and thoughts.

It is a common tendency to regard feeling and thought as opposed, the one registering subjective states, the other repotting on objective reality. In fact, the lay near the two ends of an experiential continuum, and both are ways of knowing.

„Homeless are Welcome” indicates the places where homeless can fulfill their basic needs. It is ment for bars, cafe’s, restaurants, shops, hairdressers etc. within the city circle the neighborhood metaxourgeio of Athens.  A local warm heart greek can decide which of the basic needs he can offer to a homeless person. A solution which is immaterial and independent from the corrupt system.

Space and place are familiar words denoting common experiences. Place is security, space is freedom. We are attached to the one and long to the other.

Non human animals also have a sense of territory and of place. Spaces are marked off and defended against intruders. Places are centers of felt value where biological needs, such as those for food, water and procreation are satisfied.

Friday 1.10.16

Yet our psychological habitat is shaped by what you might call the magnetic property of home, the way it aligns everything around us. Perhaps you remember a moment, coming home from a trip, when the house you call home looked, for a moment, like just another house on a street full houses. For a fraction of a second, you could see your home as a stranger might see it. But then the illusion faded and your house become home again. That, I think, is one of the most basic meanings of home - a place we can never see with a strangers eye for more than a moment.

Saturday 2.10.16

You should keep silence or to say something that is better than a silence.

A Moveable place. How long are we allowed to have a private place within a public space?

Social acceptation.

Every 3 moths the police cleans all the streets. All our possessions are thrown away. I can’t say possessions, materials that we collect true the day, dumb, possessions of others. No trace of us is their anymore after the big clean up. After this day we return again to our place, and surround us again with materials to keep us warm and dry.
